Not technically, but yes. The 5 highest rated conference champs get into the playoff, the top 4 seeds get a bye and must be conference champs. In theory you could have the G5 team be higher rated than the B12 champ but that is very unlikely. You would have to have a bad B12 champ AND a 2021 Cincinnati type G5 team that beat one or multiple P4 teams.
I have never been that bored.
Speaking of staying healthy: Cam Rising and Utah could be really really good.
I have a lot of time on my hands recently⌠a whole lot of time.
This is a little tricky since boredom wasnât invented until the old man was in his mid 30s.
I was 33 when you were born. Never a dull moment after that.
Just reading that reminds me of one of my late father in lawâs sayings, âAn intelligent mind is never boredâ
He decided to start using a computer in his mid 80âs because he had questions he wanted answered and there werenât kids or grandkids around with their phones to get him the answers.
His kids decided to put that on his tombstone.
Ha! Not sure that is my issue, but I have never been bored enough, or had the patience, to do what Doyce did with the CFB schedule.
Multiple factors play into the how and why. I am living alone(do have a dog) for the first time in my life, my weekends had been planned to play college football(before they broke the only mode I play), I had already run all my errands, and I wanted my mind to be more active than just watching tv.
I didnât set out to do the whole schedule, I had watched a video preview for Texas. While having that video on, I was curious what the teams they play schedules looked like the week before and after Texas. While looking at another teams schedule I thought âdamn thatâs a tough schedule, I wonder how it compares to that team?â That transitioned into looking at a bunch of schedules and kinda saying âlooks like 7-5â or whatever, then I started picking the individual games. Thatâs when I started the spreadsheet and I actually had fun doing it, waste of time that it undoubtedly is.
I want to see how your picks hold up come December.
Iâm curious about this too, Iâm not touching the spread sheet and plan to go through it at the end of the year and see how close I am. Probably not close at all
Not saying it wouldnât be fun; just saying I do not have the patience to do it.
If you are bored and have the patience or are just curious, I have created a google form to record our predictions if you want to use it.
I have set it up that you can select to get a copy of your choices as well.
It asks the following questions:
Who will win the SEC
Who will win the B10
Who will win the Big 12
Who will win the ACC
Who will represent the group of 5 in the 12 team play off
Seven quesitons to fill out the rest of the 12 team play off (google forms doesnât let you have multiple short answer answers to the same question)
Who will play for the national championship
Who will win the national championship.
My not well thought out, gut level predictions are:
SEC: Georga
B10: Ohio St
B12: Utah
ACC: Miami
Group of 5: LIberty
Rest of the field:
Oregon
Texas
Ole Miss
Penn State
FSU
K-State
Bama
Championship game: UGA & Oregon
Champ: Oregon
It seems like Rising has been at Utah for a decade now.
Covid and injury super senior
For Cam
2018 - redshirt at Texas
2019 - transfer before the new rules so had to sit out
2020 - plays 1 game as SO but covid extra year eligible
2021 and 22 - starter as SO and JR years
2023 - injured whole year and gets medical redshirt
2024 - 7th year senior(will be actually be final year unless he misses all but 3 games due to injury). Heâs 25
Can I just vote a straight Vanderbilt ticket?
Thanks for the analysis. My hyperbole didnât miss it by much.
Georgia Tech takes down FSU and weâre off
