I think you give them far too much credit. They’re more like the bathtub scene in “Rosencrantz And Guildernstern Are Dead” when our noble heroes are so close to figuring out displacement. But don’t.
I saw them twice four or five years ago. Ian looked terrible, but they were great. I can’t believe I didn’t talk about this then, but I’m sitting there waiting for the whole thing to start and I see a crew dude wander out on stage, long stringy hair, acid washed jeans, high top Reeboks, and I’m like Holy shit, it’s Marc. I knew this guy was tour managing various acts, but I guess I’d forgotten he was involved with E&TB. He spent a ton of time working in clubs, and he booked my bands in all of his stops - Norfolk, DC, NYC.
Anyway, I was sitting there and then I saw him walking around on the stage and I started laughing, I mean, that dude looks exactly the same as he did 30 years ago. Some people are like that, I guess.

I am very intrigued.
I found a video I took of LLS but I might have to go through some unwelcome gyrations to post it here. I will say, now that I’m remembering this, I stood next to a woman at that show, this was in Minneapolis, I stood next to someone who was probably the most stunningly beautiful woman I have ever seen in person in my life. I mean, it was absurd.
I’ve probably told the story of the gold dress woman I saw (and then, more) on West 4th in Austin back when, and she was ridiculous, but this woman wins, easy. I hope ICE doesn’t murder her.
I have a video of the song in question, but no photo of the woman in question. Major fail.

I don’t care about videos, but MAW’s best song is clearly Overkill. That is as good a song as you can write.

Colin Hay’s solo shows are well worth seeing. He’s a great story teller between the songs and the solo versions of the MAW songs are really good. Anyone see him when he guested on Scrubs and he played his acoustic version of Overkill?

I’ve seen his solo acoustic shows a few times and you’re right. The story-telling is every bit as engaging as the music. He’s been doing the “Men At Work” shows more recently, which is him, his wife and hired band which is not as engaging, IMO.
