All those league-leading offensive numbers they were gushing about early in the game are averages. With the Astros, in particular, they’re misleading-to-useless if you don’t also supply variance info.

They have been so feast or famine this season. It’s either 8 or more runs or three or less.
If they don’t come back tonight, they will have scores three runs or less in 11 of their 13 losses.
Let’s not leave another young pitcher in one inning too long.
