Leaving the Angels probably feels like heaven

Talk about a franchise that stomps on its on pecker.

Then again, having been to a few Astros-halos games at The Big A, halos fans are orange county pricks.

Snitker out as Braves manager

Defeating the Astros in the postseason is career poison.

FWIW Anthopoulos was insistent it was Snitker’s call whether he wanted to stay or retire. Lots of talk about how it would have been disrespectful to him to start a manager search before he’d made up his mind. No idea what happened behind the scenes but Snitker may truly just have wanted to hang ā€˜em up.

Bill Schmidt fired as Rockies GM. Remains to be seen if ownership is trying to get better or worse.

Meanwhile, the $1.7b purchase of the Tampa Bay Rays is final. Fingers crossed they get a good stadium in a good location soon. The franchise and fans deserve better than a minor league park or the Trop.

I guess that’s why Boone still has a job. That one is mindboggling.

What kind of new tires did you get?

I think I’ll put off new tires until next year. We may need something to talk about during games.

I was pondering this while talking to my yankeefan next door neighbor as he was cussing Boone out for pulling Fried.

And now multiple reports saying the Angels managerial gig belongs to Albert Pujols if he wants it.

I understand his connection with the owner, but man, what a shitshow to put yourself in for your first MLB managing gig.

Whoa, whoa, whoa…did I miss an entire discussion on tires? WTF?

Yep. BTW, I will need new tires for my 4Runner before next season. I need them for city and hi-way with occasional off road driving but nothing radical. I think I’ve narrowed it down to 3 different brands, Michelin, Nitto, and BF Goodrich.

I buy whatever my llantero has on hand when I go limping in there after having slammed into a pothole. I’m pretty sure I have two different pairs on there now, and I’m pretty sure no one has ever heard of either brand. I certainly hadn’t.

I don’t have a llantero here yet. Hopefully I’ll not be quite as friendly with the local potholes as I was in previous stops.

My wife took the car out for the first time today. After her return I got a knock on the door. It was a neighbor who parks next to us. Uh oh, I thought, my wife parked too close to their spot. Nope. She parked just fine, right in the middle of the space. The problem was she’d parked in the neighbor’s spot.

Find you a llantero that sells retreads and you’ll be good for a few thousand miles..

I buy Michelin. Period. I hear good things about Nitto, but will never own another set of BF Goodrich. One, they don’t have a blimp, and two, they suck donkey balls. Everyone’s mileage may vary though.

No. He said ā€œdon’t tread on meā€ and left.

Same. I subscribe to the maxim of ā€œdon’t cheap out on things that sit between you and the earthā€: your bed, your chairs, your shoes, and your tires.
