Yeah you’re not wrong. It’s not like we haven’t seen him slap a trash pitch for a base hit as well.
I think both of us have said for years if he had plate discipline, he would hit .400 every season.
If he had plate discipline, he’d have 300 less hits for his career.
That’s it.
He’s a threat to hit any pitch he can reach.
Personally when he slaps shoulder-high pitches to right I feel like it’s a sign he’s going well.
To add insult to injury the karaoke at the bar tonight is exceptionally bad.
Barry Manilow Disco bad?
That actually would be an improvement I think. Everyone is singing these sad slow songs. If there was a vibe it’s 6 feet under now.
Except for the whole getting suspended thing
I don’t buy the argument that hacking at slop somehow gets him more hits because he occasionally hits a bad pitch. If he only swung at pitches he could reach with the bat he’d have 300 more hits.
Which is more important?
He’d at least have more walks.
And if my couch had four wheels and an engine it would be a car.
He is what he is, and that’s a nearly certain hall of famer.
If my car didn’t have wheels and an engine, I’d park it in my living room.
Mariners blew a 3-0 lead to the Dojers and lost 6-3.
This was an effort at humor. I obviously didn’t read the room.
Exactly.
Looks like you’re hungry like Randy Wolf
No thread for today’s game yet but Alex is leading off and DHing.
Great job sitting Altuve, Joe.
Can’t actually start 4 real bats in the same game.
Tough but I actually think it’s smart to give Altuve a day off. He’s no longer a spring chicken.
You are right, of course.
Sometimes its better to think before posting.
After 2 days off in the past 2 weeks and less than half way into an 18 day stretch of games, maybe next week would be better but I have no idea how Altuve feels or what he needs - he did steal 2 bases, had to run out 3 ground balls yesterday, and its a day game after a night game.
