I think a large part of it is that he’s a former Astro, so his stories resonated with most of us, because we knew exactly what he was talking about, we knew the back stories of the people in his anecdotes, etc, etc. He had none of that when he started with Cubs, and it takes a long time to accumulate.
That and the fact that the Cubs suck.
Cohen and Darling are an incredible team, living in the game and not the past which gets old, fast.

Deservedly so.
Much like Milo, he was good back in his younger days, but those days are long gone.
