Astros @ Rockies, April 8, 2026

8-1 Rox at the stretch. My 10-month-old keeps taking the remote and switching away from the game. Smarter than her dad, that’s for sure.

I had the good sense, for a change, to put on other games in 4th

I’ve had it muted on my laptop the whole time.

As disinterested as I am, the Astros hitters seem way moreso.

Just a parade of shitty at bats.

Annnnnnd Abreu continues to suck.

9-1 as the Rockies are en route to their first sweep since May 2024.

Only Washington has a worse ERA, and (1) they’re actively tanking, and (2) Houston’s may be worse at the end of today.

Ballgame.

Hard to believe McCullers might currently be our ace.

“Spahn and Sain and pray for rain” becomes “Hunter and Lance and then no chance”

The Astros will end the day with both the most runs scored and tied for most runs allowed. About as anti-2025 as possible

2000 all over again.

We got out of there after the top of the fifth. Lovely ballpark.

ETA: I’ve also never seen so many Houston fans at an away game before. It genuinely seemed about half and half.

How long before we dust off the ol’ tombstone?

I’m there already. Tear it down.

WAS: 6.06
HOU: 6.05

It’s a sad day when all you have to say for your performance is “I’m doing slightly better than they are in Washington.”

That statement is widely applicable.

WE DID IT!

USA! USA! USA!

We are getting dangerously close to the “10% (of the season) is statistically significant” threshold.

It will be fun to see which team manages to be more hapless this weekend.

It should be quite the struggle.
