(Edited) Straw saw 18 pitches in two of his last three AB.
Poor Scrubb on his first night back: some lack of command, HPU squeezing him, and bloops for hits.
True but I think that getting the bad luck out of the way in such a low pressure appearance is not a bad way to ease in.

Agreed. He had to get back out there. A 9-run lead in the 9th is a pretty good opportunity. He’ll get it back.
Looked like he had a good FB but maybe was understandably amped up and overthrowing.
This helped me und the LOB stat, but I couldn’t figure out one of Straw’s stats in the box score for this game.
Why was he charged with 5 LOB? He had five AB, 3 AB w/ RISP:
- 2nd - K w/ none on (LOB - 0)
- 3rd - K w/ runners on 1st & 3rd (LOB - 1)
- 6th - fly out w/ none on (LOB - 0)
- 7th - pop out w/ sacks full (LOB - 2)
- 9th - SF w/ sacks full (LOB - 0, b/c of SF)
W/o the SF his MAX LOB would be the 5 RISP he inherited, but shouldn’t he have a LOB of 3?

I apparently was behind on that. Found a link for “individual LOB”.
Now I get it: Straw was not charged for the remaining two runners in the 9th b/c of his SF. Counting ALL runners, he was charged for two LOB in the 3rd and three LOB in the 7th, but none from the 9th w/ a run driven in.
