Spencer Arrighetti over his last 8 starts(dating back to July 7th)
Averaging just under 6 innings per start, 3.21 ERA 60 K’s 14 BB in 47.2 innings. Pretty damn impressive

He’s got a good head of hair too.
Arrighetti or Jim?
Both.
I’m jealous of anyone who doesn’t have to put sunscreen on their scalp.
Hahahaha!
Wear a hat. But yeah, it just ain’t right.
I remember those days of my youth…
Spencer Arrighetti in his last 7 games: 3.16 ERA, 12BB, 54k’s, 6.1 innings per game.
Edited to add: Cabrerra’d by @Doyce7
Both Arrighetti and Brown seem to have become confident in their ability to attack hitters and get them out (as opposed to nibbling and hoping the hitters would get themselves out), and they’ve developed some swagger. It’s fun to see.
4 Astros pitchers for the O’s series, last 7 games:
Arrighetti: 3.16 ERA, 12BB, 54k’s, 6.1 innings per game
Brown: 2.36 ERA, 14BB, 45k’s, 6.0 innings per game
Valdez: 1.94 ERA, 12BB, 59k’s, 6.2 innings per game
Kikuchi: 2.42 ERA, 7BB, 31k’s, 5.2 innings per game (over 4 games with Houston)
Gamel’s immediate contributions were my favorite part of last night.
0 RBI’s over 23 AB’s in 18 games with the Mets this year. Then two RBI singles in his first game with the Astros. And had this to say after the game: "I watched many celebrations from across the field. I’m happier to be wearing the blue and orange”. Good Stuff.
The other blue and orange…
Chandler Rome has a few interesting tidbits in this article about how the 'Stros are duct taping this run (Altuve and culture).
So he’s started at three of the four. That’s not as impressive as it sounds.
I interpreted it as first base would be a new position for him and he is being pressed into playing there by the combination of his injury and the preference to have others (Alvarez) DH.
Fair enough. He should handle it fine.
Paraphrasing because I don’t want to go back and find the quote from Espada
Bregman is a ballplayer. He will catch the ball wherever we play him.
There are some positioning things he’ll have to handle, cut offs, and generally get used to 1B, but he’s a smart player. I don’t think there should be any major issues.
Right, it’s not like sticking a catcher over at 1B
