Cool. I believe it is still a popular cruise ship destination with Aussies. I know a lot of ex-navy guys, and they swore to a man that Singapore was the greatest place on earth to go on shore leave. It sounds like Boogie Street is / was more of a red-light district from the tales of debauchery that I heard.

Bugis Street used to be that. Today it’s dominated by another mall. The main branch of the national library and some other arts spots are there. It’s still pretty vibrant.
