If Pressly wasn’t available, Taylor should have started the eighth in the first place with Stanek ready for the ninth.
Brooks Raley was a nice surprise last year, but he simply lacks the stuff and command to consistently get big league hitters out and Dusty Baker’s love affair with him has to end, immediately. The only way that happens is if James Click removes him from the 26-man roster.
Right-handed hitters look at Brooks Raley and salivate the moment they enter the box. He doesn’t throw hard, can’t consistently live on the edges, and his primary pitch breaks right into their swing path.
For the season, right-handed hitters are hitting .295 against Raley and have a slugging percentage of .449 against him.
The Astros are the prison bitch of major league baseball. Crane doesn’t give a shit as long as you necks keep shoveling him money.
