The worst pitching staff in Astros history is the 2000 Astros, they gave up 944 runs. The 2026 Astros are on pace to give up 1020(pending how many more they give up today)
Only 3 Astros teams have even given up 800, 00, 07 and 13.
The 2000 team had a team WAR among pitchers of 9.6. No one had an absolutely horrible individual season, it was more a case of not knowing how to pitch in the new park. Even Limaās WAR was only -.3. This yearās pitching team WAR is -1.3. So far. It figures to get a lot worse.

I didnāt like Stafford at first, and Iām still not sure I like him now but Iād be lying if I said he hasnāt grown on me somewhat

If you want to consider the DH factor: the average 2000 AL staff gave up 40 more runs than the average NL staff. So that puts you at 984 in 2000 vs 1020 this year
We are watching some all-time horrible pitching.
