Side effects include pacing, alcohol consumption, and the desire to yell at inanimate objects.
I hope Dodger fans never get over the butt hurt. I hope it haunts their dreams for the rest of their miserable lives. I hope their grandchildren cry when when they think of the Houston Astros. Which is hopefully daily.
This obsession has gone far beyond any joy I could have ever expected.
And the truth is they likely were doing the same thing.
Me too. And I even had a neighbor that played briefly for them.
Who?
One of my college teammates had a cup of coffee with them also.
Bart Shirley. I saw Bart start at SS in the Dome one Sunday when Wills rested. Great guy that lived four doors down from us in Corpus. All-State Half Back in HS, too. When he was in town visiting the folks he would come out and throw the football around with us kids. He would even remember our names.
Who is your teammate?
Shirley was a football/baseball star at UT. Watched him play.
My teammate was Gary Moore who also was a two-sport star. Starting safety on the FB team and LHP/OF in baseball. We were classmates at UT. He was pitcher of the year in the SWC as a junior. Gary signed after our junior year which created an opportunity for me.
I remember watching Moore play as a kid. He was a teammate of Hix Green. I met Hix about twenty years ago somewhere and when he introduced himself I said āthere was a Texas football player named Hix Green, too.ā Then he held up his hand for me to see his Natāl Championship ring. Hix was not a big man.
Gary was at UT Aug 1963 and left Aug 1966. I do not know Hix Greenās years, but I remember him very well. He caught a big pass to start the late game comeback drive to beat aTm in the mud at College Station. That was during my freshman year, which was fall 1963.
I remember that game. Championship season. Tommy Wade QBing.
Yep, Wade played important minutes in the game
