Do not stay away so long. You are a good and smart poster.
1-6 now, right?
There was nothing wrong with your post. I still hope this team rights the ship, too. They just are struggling to put complete team games together with any consistency. Right now, one day the offense doesn’t show up, one day it’s the starting pitcher struggling, another game it’s the bullpen struggling, and other games they are making defensive mistakes.
Correct.
Even after playing so bad recently, Houston is only 5.5 games back. Still plenty of time to turn this thing around.
Blanco and Brown deserved wins.
That they did. Brown in particular is showing growth that gives me hope.
I’m afraid I cannot offer any insight here.
Dusty has years and years more experience than my ZERO.
He has won thousands of more games than my ZERO
This is as close to a must win game as June games get
Dusty gave Altuve the day off 2 days ago and there is an off day tomorrow.
Dusty chose Montero to pitch the 8th with a 3 run lead.
He allowed him to stay in after putting a runner on and also after giving up a double that brought up the tying run.
I knew both of those decisions were stupid and inexcusable as soon as he made them.
Am I wrong?
It feels like nearly every day he makes a decision that I find stupid.
And he is as much to blame for many of the losses as anyone.
…,.,a killer instinct…,
Very interesting and true
Players like him. We question the beegeesuz out of him. Obviously has some plan. But frustrating watching decisions he makes at times.
Chandler Rome goes into Baker’s thought process behind those decisions. Basically, felt he had to use him at some point to spare the other relievers, this was a relatively low leverage spot (for this year’s team), didn’t want to use Neris (include not warm him up) three days in a row, and it happened too quickly (after Betts).
I declare shenannigans.
Neris was warm when Dusty decided to let Montero face Smith, which was ridiculous. After the HR, Neris came in.
The 2024 theme shouts that the team, maybe we fans also, needs some humility:
“Ready2Reign”
READY… Really???
Yeah, for sure. After he had Neris warm up, the whole “I did not want to use him” excuse bs goes out the window.
Agree.
STFU Snuffy. Go away.
Of course it happened quickly Dusty, that’s what happens with him. Sending him into a game without somebody ready to come in after three batters is just more negligent managing.
