Sparky explained the birthday conundrum on the radio earlier: the scout who got him drafted & signed fudged the paperwork by 1 year to make him younger. It never got corrected, and it’s been “officially” wrong ever since. He said when he turned “40”, his teammates threw him a party in a stadium suite, and he didn’t have the heart to tell them he was 41.
