McGee and Posey carved up Meyers, poor kid.
Garcia has had very little to no control inside the zone the last couple outings. I hate to see it, but it was not unexpected.
Guys like Mcgee are the reason I laugh at the people who say âhard to hit the ball when you donât know whatâs comingâ no itâs just fucking hard to hit a baseball period.
Ask anyone who faced Mariano Rivera.
Exactly. The haters think knowing what the pitch will be means a base hit. That is laughable and ignorant.
In high school I had pin point control, to the point where I could knock a baseball off a tee from the mound. I also had arguments with athletes that played other sports about what the hardest thing to do in sports is. Obviously my answer was âhit a baseballâ they said hitting a baseball wasnât that hard. So I challenged them to hit a ball off of me a below average velocity pitcher who could throw the ball wherever they wanted it. These guys had played little league but didnât play high school. I told them they would each(there were 4 of them) have 10 pitches wherever they wanted in the zone and if they could hit 3 of them for what could be considered âhit worthyâ I would concede. They could not. The first guy had one that flared into right, the second guy couldnât make contact better than a tip, the 3rd guy popped up a few, I think the last guy hit one between where the 1B and 2B would normally stand. Hitting a baseball is fucking hard
Ted Williams, who was a fairly well-known hitter of baseballs, said:
âI think without question the hardest single thing to do in sport is to hit a baseball.â
