Astros at Blue Jays, 9/11/25

Astros and Mariners now tied in the loss column

Oh well, 6-0 Jays. Gausman had to throw 100 pitches, though.

To be fair, Gausman was legit dealing. But they’ve used up all their margin for 'that’s just a bad break."

I missed the first few innings. Just saw the replay of the pop fly that dropped by Sanchez with both Pena and Altuve standing nearby. 'Stros are just not playing well.

Agreed. That said, other than robbing a couple home runs against Baltimore, Jesus Sanchez is a bad defensive outfielder.

He also misplayed a ball later in the game, and he took an odd route on Varsho’s triple in the fourth inning. Then, he had the bad error in Detroit a few weeks ago.

He makes up for it by being bad at the plate.

He’s certainly not one of the Astros better trade deadline acquisitions in recent memory. Is there a return-to-sender option?

I’m not trying to make any excuses for Altuve, but if I remember correctly, there was a point in the not so distant past where Altuve hit a pretty substantial cold streak and was obviously playing distracted. This coincided with a very trying time in Venezuela. Now, we have invasion plans of Venezuela out in the open for everyone to see. There are even Venezuelan jets buzzing US naval vessels. It’s gotta feel a bit more real when you have family living there.

Again, not making an excuse for him, just an observation.

Kikuchi was a nice trade deadline acquisition. It is a pity he was just a rental.

Just click the link and watch the video…it’s up there with the 'buttslide"

He’s no Aubrey Huff

That’s pretty bad, but my favorite is still the three guys falling all over one another trying to field a bunt in 2013 (?).

Yes! That is my favorite idiot astros highlight of all time.

Angels and Mariners tied 4-4 in the 10th for the night owls here.

Angels get two strike outs with runners on second and third with one out. Onto the 11th.

Angels score on a single and lead 5-4.

Mariners tie it up with an RBI single.

Tied 5-5 at the end of 11.

Wow - intentional walks to Raleigh and Rodriguez to face Naylor with bases loaded and two outs. And Naylor Ks! On to the 12th.

Trout grounding into DP with two on and no outs put a damper on the inning. Angels up 6-5 after 11.5.
