I’m not sure they’re that erratic. They’re just not very good right now.
They were plenty good last night. Pitching sucked. And the managing.
When they win they win by 4 or 5 runs. Or more, it seems.

After tonight’s loss, Astros will be 12-14 against the AL Central.
And in their last 12 against the Royals, Tigers, Twins, and Orioles, they’ll be 2-10. That ain’t gonna get it done.

Blum and Kalas: Stop making excuses for the Astros. The Royals had nothing to do with Framber not covering first base and hitting a batter on a 0-2 count, leading to the Royals two runs in the sixth. They also had nothing to do with Chas McCormick trying to advance from second base on a ball to shortstop last night, costing a run.
Plus, they lost the season series to the Tigers and Twins and got swept by the Orioles at home.
