I do not think Altuve is an idiot, but it is idiotic to sit on a changeup. If one does, a fastball will blow right past. The only way to hit, from HS to MLB, is to sit fastball and adjust to off speed.
Not saying Altuve was not sitting changeup; his non-reaction to the hittable fastball says he likely was. Just saying that is not a smart approach, especially by a HOF hitter in that situation.

Exactly. If he was sitting on a change up, it was a piss poor approach to an a bat, and he has to know better.
