9/4/24 Astros @ Reds

Heyward down on strikes

Salazar, pinch hitting for Diaz…carved up

And that puts a cap on this stinker. 12-5 is the final

Take away that error in the first inning, and this is a different ballgame. Last eight innings it’s 5-3 Astros.

Before his career’s over, I’d like to see Dubon play all 9

Who was the last Astro to do that…Candaele?

That Tecovas commercial annoys me to no end. Just get your fucking boots re-soled for 1/10th the price.

They have Austin/Texas panache now, and I read recently they’re expanding into about 20 new states.

Kind of like Torchy’s Tacos.

Candaele never pitched or caught.

And the answer is…Jake Elmore in 2013.

You could have given me an infinite amount of monkeys on an infinite amount of typewriters and I’m not sure ā€œJake Elmore of the Houston Astros played all 9 positions in his MLB careerā€ would have popped up.

He played them all in that one season for the Astros. I don’t even remember him.

All in 1 season is even better.

I have no idea who he is.

A handful of players have done it in the same game, but no Astro.

I guess the silver lining is this game only counts for one loss.

It was the best of times it was the blurst of times?!

On this dark day we, well at least I, shall raise a glass to Jake Elmore, if for no other reason, because I need a fucking drink.

We should have an official Jake Elmore Day around here.

Either 9/4, or someone should text him to get his opinion. Fuck it 9/4.

Right, I knew no Astro had done that in a season, thanks for the Elmore knowledge on a guy in his career.

Elmore got P and C in the same game, August 19th, 2013

He got the 9th, CF, on September 10th.

He also DH, PH, PR that season, so he was 12-12

Each inning we drink a different spirit.
