So, does this mean Isaiah Jackson isn’t signing for $127,900? Having grown up in Tucson, I can tell you that’s a hell of a lot of money for a kid from Vail.
I’ve assumed all along he was the backup plan in case Clifford couldn’t be signed (which orgs usually do) and also based on the fact he went much lower than expected suggesting teams were scared off by that Arizona St. commitment. So with Clifford on board Jackson’s signing seems remote. But I certainly hope I’m wrong. I guess we’ll find out for certain come Monday.
Apologies. I shouldn’t have deleted my parenthetical that my comment was purely in jest. I’m under no illusions that Jackson will attend Tempe Normal, aka the school to the north, which is a horrendous outcome for the young man.
I am glad they signed Clifford. Far more than I expected, but the kid did have a lot of leverage and hopefully proves to be worth the money.

Haven’t heard anything but perhaps it’s just cautionary. Somewhat similar to Michael Knorr, Trey Dombroski and Nolan DeVos. While those three have been assigned to the FCL club, none have pitched yet. All four are coming off starters’ workloads this spring.
With vacancies created by 3 pitchers getting promoted to Asheville, DeVos/Blubaugh/Guilfoil all get bumped to Fayetteville while Taylor is now listed on the FCL Blue roster (though he has yet to pitch)…
