Nothing against the kid, and I’m glad he was drafted where he was, but Dansby Swanson is a name I just can’t figure out.

The ruling was safe, and the one angle from home plate side showed Seager’s tag bounced off momentarily.

Probably filed under ‘not clear enough to overturn’.

Yeah, I’m sure it was “call stood” vs “call confirmed” or whatever, but they easily could have called it the other way, IMO. I’d have been pissed had it gone against us.

Huh. For some reason I thought his name was Daxby. Maybe I’m just getting confused because of the restaurant chain Zaxby’s, which are quite common in Atlanta and throughout the general TBS footprint.

He’s named after his mother’s maiden name. I know way too much about Dansby Swanson because I was tasked to edit his Instagram videos 2 seasons ago.

I’m glad my first name isn’t my mother’s maiden name.

We almost used my wife’s maiden name for our son’s name. We were looking at Bennett Samuel Duer. Bennett Duer is a pretty solid sounding name. But that would have made him B.S. Duer. We decided not to do that to him.
