If he is all that successful, why does he need to advertise?
Rice Stadium goes Jackie Robinson and pilfers the dish.
Man, they paid no attention to him at all.
It wasnât that close at the plate.
Wonder if thereâs any truth to this.
I sincerely hope not.
From the Athletic:
"Thursday was the 209th time Baker and La Russa have managed in games just against each other. If one has been outsmarting the other all these years, itâs news to the scoreboard. The totals after Thursdayâs duel:
Dusty 105
Tony 104"
If thatâs true (with all it implies), I think you make the QO, collect a draft pick, and quietly let him move on.
Hard to believe this team would be so petty, especially against JV.
I think itâs probably bullshit
But now the media will have some more âAstros are assholesâ bullshit to ruminate on.
Why would the players give a hoot who throws out the first pitch?
My main takeaway from this is that John Granato still exists.
Why do you think he is successful?
If that happened, it would most likely be Correa or LMJ. Both are outspoken, all-in guys. I could see them feeling slighted or let-down by a stand-offish JV. A player of his experience has plenty to offer the team without participating in a game. What if they asked for his help and were rebuffed or ignored?
I donât know if you are right but CC and LMJ are very close.
Iâve never heard of him, but to post something like that makes me think heâs a self serving asshole who wants to get hits/retweets.
He may be that now, but I remember him from his and Lance Zierleinâs sportstalk show on 610AM in the mid/late 90âs. It was entertaining, and I had no idea he was still around in Houston. He did pregame/postgame stuff for the TV broadcasts as well, iirc.
Well, it is published bullshit so if it is not true, someone should say so loudly.
He threw multi-million dollar parties for his daughterâs quinceanera and sonâs 18th birthday. He lives in a huge ostentatious home in the hills of northwest San Antonio. He is not unsuccessful.
