I know Click isn’t intentionally trolling, but the coincidence is just too good: the Astros took the compensation pick they got because Gerrit Cole left for the Yankees and used it to pluck a kid from the Yankees’ own backyard. A kid who, according to The Athletic, models his pitching demeanor on…Gerrit Cole. And now, Santos says “I’ve been a Yankees fan my whole life, but I think I switched over to the Astros now.”
Did Santos get a gift bag?
Yeah, it would be hard for him not to be a fan favorite. Good grief he’s a strong man.
I’m wondering if this wasn’t also an attempt to free up some cash to sign Santos and Brown.
